Since 1976, Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC) has been dedicated to serving families in San Jose, California through fitness, aquatics and community — always with members’ needs at the core of their mission.
After a temporary outdoor gym built during the COVID-19 pandemic became a huge hit with members, AVAC decided to add something more permanent. This led them to BeaverFit.
“We knew we wanted a statement piece not only unique to AVAC but also incredibly functional for all of our needs,” said Stacy Barrett, the director of fitness at AVAC. “There was no question BeaverFit was the perfect fit.”
Here, Barrett shares the benefits and pleasant surprises of working with BeaverFit for both members and staff.
What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?
Our BeaverFit piece — set in our 7,000-square-foot outdoor gym — allows us to run small group training programs and elevate our personal training sessions without crowding our indoor gym. We’ve seen a huge uptick in members taking advantage of our add-on services at AVAC because of the additional equipment and space.
What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?
Our members love having a large functional piece of equipment allowing them to easily try new things or add new components to their workouts.
Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with BeaverFit in any way?
Our project ended up taking over a year longer than we had intended, and BeaverFit was incredibly patient every step of the way. I got to meet the whole crew a couple of times at the HFA show as well, and they are always the most warm and welcoming.
