Charter Fitness has set its sights on North Carolina as a market for new growth. The company plans to build fitness centers throughout Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro and Raleigh, and is actively seeking franchise groups to own and operate these facilities.
“North Carolina is an attractive market for our brand of fitness center and we offer the business entrepreneur a great opportunity to join us as a partner,” said Michael Vogel, who leads development at Charter Fitness, in a press release. “We believe our business model is one of the most attractive in the industry, offering a best-in-class concept that provides a strong return on investment for the kind of franchisee leaders we seek.”
Vogel said Charter Fitness chose the North Carolina regions of Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro and Raleigh for development based on the areas’ economic and community growth plans. “These areas in North Carolina have strong economies and the booming business climate is attracting new businesses both nationally and internationally,” continued Vogel in the release. “All of this means more people, many with an interest in personal fitness.”
According to Vogel, the ideal potential franchisee has senior level management or operations experience and is looking to build his or her own business with a concept that has long-term growth potential.
“We think there’s a strong market throughout North Carolina for our brand of fitness center,” said Vogel, in the release.
