Guest passes are the easiest way to generate traffic through your door. The problem is, guest passes do no good just sitting at the front desk. The guest passes cannot ask “Would you like one of me today?” The guest passes can’t say, “Would you like some free membership time?”
If your staff does not have guest passes on them at all times and isn’t actively promoting them to your members, you are missing out on potential sales. When you staff prospects outside the club, do they carry guest passes? How easy is it when you’re grabbing something at the store to ask, “Are you currently working out anywhere? Oh your not, well let me give you a free 14-day pass to xyz health club today! What’s your name again? Great, would you like to come down later today or tomorrow to activate your pass?” Bingo! You just scored a new lead that you couldn’t have scored if those guest passes were just sitting back at the club on the front desk.
