There is very little greater in this world than seeing someone on your staff succeed. Yesterday I was privileged to promote a person I hired, Rachel Zabonick, my former assistant editor for the past two years, to the role of Editor of Club Solutions Magazine.
Rachel has been a top performer in Club Solutions Magazine’s history. She has played an integral role in helping the brand grow online, through social media and in our print edition.
As a leader there really isn’t anything better than developing a person on your team and then promoting them to a position that they seek. For myself, it has been an experience of a lifetime.
In a previous cover interview with Brian Smith, the vice president of operations for Sport&Health, he spoke in great detail about the power of mentorship and empowering team members. Sport&Health has invested a lot in mentorships over the years. In fact, when I interviewed Mark Fisher, the CEO and President of Sport&Health, he spoke greatly about empowering his staff and helping them achieve life goals.
At Peake Media and Club Solutions Magazine, we have always believed in developing talent, promoting from within and helping our staff achieve their dreams and goals. Rachel and I had spoke in detail over the past couple of years concerning her desire to one day become Editor for Club Solutions, a role she has a deep passion for.
She explained to me that she cares deeply about the fitness industry, its growth and playing a major part in that success. Out of the vast majority of journalists and individuals I have known over the years, Rachel has been one of those that I believe truly cares about the subject matter she covers, and sticks out as an individual pursuing greatness.
If you get a chance over the next few days, you should send Rachel a quick congratulations, or hello if you don’t know her. She’s a great person, a great leader for our team and someone that will help lead Club Solutions Magazine into the future.

So delighted for Rachel and this success. I look forward to working with her even more closely now in this new role. She is very capable and very deserving. I wish her the very best.
Thank you for the kind words Linda! It’s always a pleasure to work with you and your staff!
