According to The Columbus Dispatch, LA Fitness has completed the terms of its purchase of Lexington, Ky.-based Urban Active. The purchase price of Urban Active’s 36 total locations was not disclosed.
Tim Feran of The Columbus Dispatch wrote, “LA Fitness officials said in a statement that the company purchased ‘substantially all of the assets relating to Urban Active’s clubs in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Nebraska, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.’”
According to Feran, LA Fitness will honor all of Urban Active’s current membership and personal training agreements, and will shut down only one Urban Active club, in Mason, Ohio. Those members will be referred to a LA Fitness Club nearby, said Feran.
