Forbes magazine has named Anytime Fitness one of “America’s Most Promising Companies.” In the February issue of Forbes, Anytime Fitness ranked 14 on the list. The rankings were judged on growth, quality of management team and investors, margins, market size and key partnerships.
“We’re honored that such a well-respected periodical as Forbes counts us among America’s most promising companies,” said Chuck Runyon, the CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “The recognition speaks to the passion and hard work of our franchisees, the dedicated support of our corporate staffers, and the loyalty of our members who place a high value on convenient and affordable fitness options.”
Last year, Anytime Fitness opened its 2,000th club in Neede, a town 90 miles east of Amsterdam, in The Netherlands. Gerry Thomas, the CFO of Anytime Fitness, expects number of clubs worldwide to double by 2019.
“We’ve opened at least 250 clubs in each of the last five years, despite a challenging global economy, and I don’t see our growth rate slowing down,” said Thomas. “In fact, six years from now, I expect that we will have at least 4,000 clubs in the U.S. and another 4,000 clubs worldwide, essentially quadrupling the number of clubs we have today.”
