Teresa Coffey-Gordon, the chief marketing officer for Millennium Partners Sports Club Management LLC, called Strala Yoga an “unpretentious yoga revolution.” Millennium Partners recently introduced Strala Yoga to many of its Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY locations. Coffey-Gordon explained why a “yoga revolution” was a wanted commodity.
CS: What is Strala Yoga, and what are its differentiating factors?
TC: Strala Yoga, founded by Tara Stiles, is a straightforward, unpretentious yoga revolution. Known for its laid-back, energetic and open vibe, it’s a movement-based system of yoga that lets people feel into the full range of themselves, focusing on the movement rather than the poses themselves.
CS: Why did Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY want to partner with Tara Stiles?
TC: Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY have a long history of being a progressive leader in the health and wellness industry, by creating innovative offerings as well as forging strategic partnerships to enhance our member experience. This new partnership with Tara Stiles and Strala Yoga is no exception. We pride ourselves on being able to offer such a vast assortment of health and wellness offerings and fitness classes, equipment and floor spaces under one roof so that all of our members, no matter their personal fitness preferences and interests, have a variety of options that they can choose from.
We are so excited to be the first health club in the world to offer this unique and modern yoga revolution to our members as part of the clubs’ regular Mind-Body schedule.
CS: In how many clubs will Strala Yoga be offered, and will it be free or fee-based?
TC: Strala Yoga will be available in all Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY locations nationwide, and will be complimentary to members.
CS: When will the class be implemented, and how will the club promote the new class?
TC: We have already began introducing the class onto the clubs’ schedules and it will be fully available nationwide in early 2014. To promote the new class and the Strala Movement, Tara recently kicked off a nationwide tour at Sports Club/LA – Boston. She will be visiting each Sports Club/LA and Reebok Sports Club/NY to personally teach a workshop to our yoga instructors and to host a special class for our members.
CS: How do you expect members to receive Strala yoga?
TC: Members are excited about another new and exclusive offering on our schedule. We had an overwhelming response to the class in Boston and I expect the same in each city to follow. Strala Yoga is a unique and modern form of yoga that will appeal to both yoga enthusiasts and non-yogis as well.
