Charter Fitness, a Chicago-based franchise, has set its sights on the Kansas City metropolitan area as a market for growth. According to Charter Fitness, the company has plans to build 11 fitness centers in the area, and is actively seeking franchise groups to own and operate these facilities.
“Kansas City is an attractive market for our brand of fitness centers, and we offer the business entrepreneur a great opportunity to join us as a partner,” said Michael Vogel, the recently appointed SVP of development for Charter Fitness, in a statement. “We believe our business model is one of the most attractive in the industry, offering a best-in-class concept that provides a strong return on investment.”
Charter Fitness chose the Kansas City area for development based on the area’s solid growth potential. “Kansas City has been aggressively attracting new businesses of all kinds, and that means more people, including those who appreciate value and want fitness results,” said Vogel.
According to Vogel, the ideal potential franchisee has senior level management or operations experience and is looking to build his or her own business with a concept that has long-term growth potential. “We think there’s a strong market in the Kansas City area for our brand of fitness centers,” Vogel continued.
Charter Fitness has more than 35 locations with additional locations planned to open in the next year.
