A one-hour workout is only 4 percent of your members’ day. The rest of the time, they are on their own. Without a trainer, coach or instructor it can be challenging to find the motivation and knowledge needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Now, 24 Hour Fitness is helping members uphold their commitment to reach their fitness goals, even when they are not in the gym. This month the company launched 24LIFE, a new, free digital fitness lifestyle magazine for its members.
“It is important for our members to have the best resources available to support their healthy and fit lifestyles,” said Steve Schillinger, the director of club experience for 24 Hour Fitness. “As we are in the process of truly making over 24 Hour Fitness it seemed like the next logical step for us to keep members motivated, as well as give them a whole other avenue to engage with their gym.”
Each issue will highlight what is currently hot in the industry — what types of exercises are currently out there, what types of equipment and planned programs that 24 Hour Fitness is expecting to release. Readers will also find workouts, nutrition information, fashion tips, tech and travel ideas, how-to video tips, healthy recipes and much more.
“What we tried to do was provide another resource outside of the club where they can go and get a better understanding of how they can live a fit and healthy lifestyle,” continued Schillinger. “It is a good way to reference back a lot of the information they can receive in the clubs in a simple way.”
Both leaders in the fitness industry, as well as within 24 Hour Fitness will contribute content to the magazine to highlight what the company has been doing from an internal perspective, but also provide interesting and new ideas on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. “It is going to be a combination of different stories and points of view that we feel like could impact our members in a positive way,” added Schillinger.
In the premier issue of the magazine, NFL star Dwight Freeney graces the cover. Inside the issue, readers will also find features on fat-burning, toning, TRX workouts, nutrition information on low-carb diets, training after 50 and video tips.
The magazine will be released six times per year and is available for download free of charge to smartphones and tablets through Google Play and the iTunes App Store.
