To prevent high attrition rates, member engagement is a must. Here, Robert Brewster, the president of The Alaska Club, shares how Netpulse’s Club Mobile Apps helped his clubs not only better engage with members, but acquire new ones as well.
CS: Why did you decide to launch a Club Mobile App for The Alaska Club?
RB: We wanted an easier way to communicate with members across our 16 locations. We loved the idea of making our app a central hub for contacting members, and more so, engaging them. From that engagement perspective, we’ve had requests from members to integrate their fitness tracking devices into club programs, so linking our Club Mobile App to their Fitbit and Runkeeper apps seemed like the perfect solution.
CS: Why did you choose to partner with Netpulse as your Club Mobile App provider?
RB: Netpulse is the undisputed leader for Club Mobile Apps. Put simply, there just isn’t anything else that is comparable and available today. The Netpulse app had everything we were looking for and we have a great relationship with their team. I knew they would focus on building a long term relationship with us.
CS: How does your Club Mobile App help increase revenue?
RB: We’re using the app to promote deals to members (e.g. discounted introductory personal training sessions). We’re also using the push alert feature to encourage members to refer friends. As we grow, we’ll be focusing on acquiring new personal training leads from members using our app.
CS: Are your members more engaged now that you have a Club Mobile App?
RB: Absolutely! Members are downloading the app, setting fitness goals and joining challenges.
CS: How hard was it to get started?
RB: I didn’t have to do anything! Netpulse does all of the work, we just send them our logo, colors and class schedules.
CS: What would you like other clubs owners to know about Netpulse?
RB: Put getting a club mobile app on your action list for this year!
