YogaWorks, the industry leader in yoga practice and fitness, continues its expansion across the U.S. with the purchase of two studios in Boston – Back Bay Yoga Studio and Sweat and Soul Yoga. The company also recently acquired a studio in Palo Alto, California, and a chain of seven yoga studios in San Francisco.
Within the past year, YogaWorks has grown from 29 to 40 studios, with locations in California, New York and now Boston. “Boston was compelling because it’s a healthy and fit city with great interest in yoga,” said Phil Swain, CEO of YogaWorks. “Back Bay’s excellence in offering a variety of yoga classes is perfectly aligned with our mission to reach more people through high quality teaching and an eclectic mix of styles.”
YogaWorks was founded in 1987 in Santa Monica, California. Over the years, the company has provided exceptional yoga instruction, a premier teacher training program, workshops and best-in-class online yoga.
“Heritage and authenticity is what sets YogaWorks apart,” explained Swain. “We have a rich history of cultivating some of the best yoga talent around the globe and we embrace all types of styles to cater to people of all ages and all walks of life.”
According to Swain, providing quality yoga and focusing on integrity have been keys to the success of the company. “Everyone in the YogaWorks family, from instructors to front desk staff to members, all rally around our mission to deeply and positively transform people’s lives.”
While they are not announcing any specific markets at this time, Swain said they are definitely planning on continued expansion in the future.
