A Competitive Edge

All gyms, studios and fitness facilities need something that gives them an edge over the competition. For Kati Donahue, the owner of The Cycle Loft, that competitive edge proved to be Spivi, an indoor cycling software which allows operators to boast cycling training systems with management tools and spot reservations.

Here, Donahue shares more about the benefits of the partnership.

CS: How were you introduced to Spivi, and why did you decide to partner with them?

KD: When I started researching bikes and performance software for my studio I came across Spivi. This was in late 2013 and they were a fairly new concept in the U.S. I chose this performance software over the others because they were not well-known and would help bring a unique flair to my studio. I wanted to have something that gave me the edge on all surrounding competition. When we implemented Spivi we were one of three studios in the U.S.

CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?

KD: Spivi has given my studio the edge to blow any competition out of the water with the cutting-edge technology they provide. We are able to provide a unique riding experience and performance metrics to assist our members in setting training goals. Not only are we providing killer workouts, but our members have the data to back it up. We are also able to tap into riding groups (ex-outdoor cyclists, mountain bikers, etc.) that would not typically spend time in a cycling class. These groups have witnessed the enhancement Spivi brings to their indoor training. Spivi is one of the main reasons offered when providing prospect members a motive to come to our studio versus continuing with their cycling classes in a “box” gym.

CS: What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?

KD: Spivi has given our members the opportunity to be competitive with themselves and others, while bringing an element of fun to a sometimes mundane type of workout. The leaderboard provides our members with reason to connect to The Cycle Loft community as well as the Spivi worldwide community. We have seen health benefits and training enhancement continuously.

CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Spivi in any way?

KD: I have been pleasantly surprised with how responsive they are. It’s been great to work with a growing company and see how they have progressed over the last two years.

CS: What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with Spivi?

KD: Ask and you shall receive. They are great to work with and very responsive. This is something that’s hard to find in the fitness industry. They are continuously evolving and members notice and appreciate that.
