Augie Nieto Visits Life Fitness
On September 16, 2016, Life Fitness founder Augie Nieto and his wife Lynne visited the Life Fitness factory in Franklin Park, Illinois. Augie was diagnosed with ASL (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2005, making travel difficult. As a result, according to a Life Fitness representative, the visit was a special event for Life Fitness, as it was the first time in many years Augie had been able to visit.
GoodLife Will Add 600 Positions
GoodLife Fitness recently announced the company will hire 600 new associates in clubs across Canada by the end of August 2017. The positions include: Fitness advisors, personal trainers; general managers; assistant general managers; fitness managers, club administrators, front desk motivators; and JUMP! child minding associates.
GoodLife Fitness was named one of Canada’s Top 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures and Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America.
In addition, the Canadian-owned and operated company will open 15 GoodLife Fitness clubs across the country.
UFC GYM to Open 30 Locations in Philippines
UFC GYM announced an exclusive 10-year partnership with the Fitspiration Philippines Corporation to open 30 locations throughout The Republic of the Philippines. The first signature UFC GYM will be located in the Glorietta, Makati City section of Manilla, and will open in early 2017.
Anytime Fitness Announces New Brand President; Sets Two World Records
Anytime Fitness announced the promotion of Stacy Anderson to the new position of brand president. Anderson, who has served as the company’s chief marketing officer since 2012, will lead Anytime Fitness’ business unit and steer the continuing evolution of the franchise’s business model.
In addition, several hundred Anytime Fitness franchisees recently joined forces with hundreds of gym managers and personal trainers, corporate staffers and Waxing The City franchisees to set two world records at the Self Esteem Brands annual conference in Lake Placid, New York.

Wisconsin Athletic Club Opens Largest Location
Wisconsin Athletic Club (WAC) has opened its largest facility to date. On September 19, 2016, WAC opened a 60,000-square-foot club in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the largest of seven WAC-owned health clubs.
The club features five pools and five group exercise studios, in addition to boasting personal training, wellness coaching, classes for seniors, nutrition services held in a kitchenette area, and a large, private women’s-only studio.
