I had the pleasure of attending the 2018 Club Solutions Leadership Retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, at the beautiful Breakers resort. The event was one of the most unique and rewarding experiences of my career. Every detail of the event was planned to perfection. The Club Solutions team did a fantastic job in delivering an event that truly benefited the attendees on a professional level, but also a memorable and fun event that none of us will forget.
The event’s limited size was one of the biggest positives for me. The smaller group design allowed for more in-depth conversation and encouraged more involvement from everyone, which of course benefits us all. Though the group was diverse in the size and types of clubs represented, we were able to bring that variety of insights into group discussions for richer, more complete roundtable conversations. It also allowed the group the opportunity to form deeper connections with peers from all over the country.
I found the roundtable topics to be current and relevant, and Blair McHaney, our moderator, did a superb job of organizing and steering the discussions to maximize our takeaways. I went back to work feeling refreshed, reinvigorated and inspired — with pages of notes and ideas and new contacts to reach out to for insight and advice.
Finally, the setting of the event was absolutely stunning. From the resort itself to the activities to the food, every detail was well thought-out and enhanced the experience. The relaxed, resort-style setting put everyone at ease, awakened the senses and helped spark clear and creative thinking — the kind of thinking you just can’t achieve in your club.
This retreat delivers so much value — it truly is one of the most worthwhile investments a club can make. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the 2019 Retreat.
