How Upgrades from Matrix Fitness Give Gold’s Gym El Paso a Premium Feel

Here, Anton Conlon, the COO of Gold’s Gym El Paso, shares his experience partnering with Matrix and how they’ve elevated the facility’s appearance and programming capability:

How were you introduced to Matrix and why did you decide to partner with them?

AC: Matrix does a lot of great work with Gold’s Gym on a corporate level, and they’re sponsors of many events, such as the annual global Gold’s Gym Convention and the Gold’s Gym Franchisee Association meetings. This made Matrix a natural fit for our Gold’s Gym Franchise in El Paso, Texas.

How has Matrix helped enhance your fitness offerings?

AC: For our newest location, Matrix offered equipment upgrades to give a premium feel, such as matte black finish, premium padding and Gold’s Gym logo shrouds on pin-selected equipment. They worked with us closely in the floor layout and ever-changing installation date, which kept moving, due to construction. They offered some new pieces, such as a double mega squat rack and a couple of new pieces for our older club, so our existing members didn’t feel left out. We also worked closely with Matrix to put together MX4 zones in both our clubs at the same time the new club opened to give extra value in this popular high intensity interval training (HIIT) platform.

What do your members love most about Matrix?

AC: They love the consistency in the equipment between both our clubs and the introduction of new pieces.

How would you rate Matrix’s customer service and support?

AC: Excellent! The sales process with our main point of contact, Scott Reeves, doesn’t stop at the sale. Scott is always there for support, advice and aftercare when needed, including frequent visits and support during our special events, such as grand openings and one-year anniversaries.

Why should other club operators consider working with Matrix?

AC: They give much-needed customer care and the availability to troubleshoot any concerns you may have with equipment. We’ve personally received a lot of added value in preventative maintenance and servicing training for our staff.
