Lynne and Victor Brick plan to open their 70th location in California as a part of PF Growth Partners.
PF Growth Partners (PFGP), the Planet Fitness franchise group owned by industry veterans Lynne and Victor Brick, is scheduled to open its first California gym in San Bruno in June 2021.
This will be the group’s 70th location in the U.S., with plans to open a total of 10 clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. PFGP also boasts six clubs in Australia.
“We’re excited to take our footprint to yet another U.S. state so more people can benefit from a high-quality fitness experience at an exceptional value in a hassle-free, non-intimidating environment,” said Victor Brick, in a statement.
According to the duo, the opening of the San Bruno location couldn’t come at a better time in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported approximately 78 percent of U.S. adults who were hospitalized due to COVID-19 between March and December 2020 were overweight or obese.
“Planet Fitness believes fitness is essential to the physical and mental health of people who are eager to get out of the house and resume their active lifestyles,” stated Victor Brick. “We are doing our part in combatting this ongoing pandemic by providing access for people to exercise and stay healthy.”
Lynne and Victor Brick became Planet Fitness franchisees in 2007, and own and operate clubs in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Tennessee, Florida, Washington State and now California.
PFGP is also one of three partners in Bravo Fit Holdings Pty Ltd., which plans to bring a minimum of 35 Planet Fitness clubs to Australia.
