Cryotherapy: Attract New Members, Generate New Revenue

Consumers are constantly looking for value and convenience. By adding cryotherapy and other recovery modalities, you can stand out from competition and bring members back or even attract new members.

We all know that overtraining in the gym can lead to diminishing gains and results. Using personal trainers or creating fitness regimens with rest days, rotating muscle group, etc., certainly help, but often isn’t enough. Almost all of us are under-recovering and leaving a lot of potential gains and progress on the table by doing so. 

Cryotherapy is the leading and preferred recovery modality for millions of Americans and is only increasing in popularity, availability and demand. Cryotherapy has a plethora of benefits, such as, muscle recovery, increased blood flow and feel-good endorphins from intense, yet comfortable cold exposure.

Adding cryotherapy to your gym provides members a quick, comfortable and efficient way to stop under-recovering and get back to training quicker and stronger.

The goal of cryotherapy is to achieve a 30-to-40-degree skin temperature drop in two to three minutes. This triggers body’s natural fight or flight response, causing blood to rush from the extremities to the core — protecting vital organs. After the session, freshly oxygenated blood is delivered throughout the body, aiding in healing and reducing inflammation. Cryotherapy can produce a fun, enjoyable and beneficial experience that provides perfect synergies to members in the fitness industry and should not be overlooked when considering adding new services. 

Not only is cryotherapy a great recovery and wellness service to offer existing members as an amenity, but it can also be a great way to generate additional revenue as well as bring in new members and retain current members. The fitness industry is becoming more aware of the importance of wellness and recovery and have already started demanding these services to be offered in their gym.
