In-Shape Family Fitness raised over $160,000 for cancer research in October 2023 through its Fight Cancer Campaign. In-Shape Family Fitness, formerly California Family Fitness and In-Shape Health Clubs now doing business under one name, has 63 clubs throughout California that all came together to raise funds for the campaign.
“We’re deeply touched and humbled by the incredible generosity and dedication of our members and team members throughout this campaign,” said Kris Mulkey, the chief marketing officer of In-Shape Family Fitness. “Their unwavering commitment to giving back to our community and supporting those affected by cancer is a testament to the power of unity and compassion. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and the positive impact and substantial contribution we can make to these organizations.”
Throughout October, In-Shape Family Fitness offered a range of ways for the community to contribute to this critical cause, including fitness and wellness events, special Fight Cancer retail items, selling paper kettlebells, Fight Cancer pickleball tournaments, donations for every new member that joined, sponsorships from partners, and donations for every public social media post with #InShapeFightsCancer.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to In-Shape Family Fitness and to all the participants, supporters and loyal members who have made this campaign a success,” said Janelle Wilkinson, the senior corporate relations manager at The American Cancer Society. “Their unwavering dedication to our cause year after year has made a tangible difference in the fight against cancer. We look forward to continuing this impactful partnership for years to come.”
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to provide free cancer education and emotional support to those recently diagnosed, offer free lodging for people with cancer and their caregivers while receiving treatment away from home, and support numerous services within communities local to In-Shape Family Fitness clubs. Additionally, the funds will contribute to cutting-edge cancer research at a national level.
