Genesis Health Clubs, the largest privately held health club enterprise in the United States, is expanding with the acquisition of eight Esporta Fitness locations from LA Fitness. This strategic move strengthens Genesis’ presence in Kentucky while marking its first entry into Arkansas and Louisiana, further solidifying its leadership in the South and Midwest. The transition is effective February 27, 2025.
With this acquisition, Genesis reinforces its position in Lexington and Louisville while introducing its product to new members in Little Rock, Arkansas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Slidell, Louisiana.
The newly acquired clubs will now operate as:
- Genesis Little Rock Midtown – 304 S University Ave., Little Rock, AR
- Genesis East Little Rock – 11700 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR
- Genesis North Little Rock – 2939 Lakewood Village Dr., Little Rock, AR
- Genesis East Lexington – 3001 Blake James Dr., Lexington, KY
- Genesis West Lexington – 1028 Wellington Way, Lexington, KY
- Genesis South Louisville – 4620 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY
- Genesis Baton Rouge – 6474 Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA
- Genesis Slidell – 390 Town Center Parkway, Slidell, LA
The acquisition also brings 250 new employees into the Genesis family, expanding the company’s footprint to 77 clubs across 13 states.

While the newly acquired clubs already offer strong foundations, Genesis plans to enhance the member experience with upgraded amenities and equipment, expanded group exercise programming and top-tier personal training services.
As part of its commitment to delivering an unparalleled fitness experience, Genesis will adjust membership dues at these newly acquired locations to deliver an optimal experience.
