Myzone is calling on health and fitness operators around the world to unite their members, teams and communities behind a global ambition to earn 10 million Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) in a single day this UK National Fitness Day on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The 10 million MEPs Global Challenge will bring Myzone’s worldwide community together through one shared goal, with every MEP earned contributing to the collective total. While 10 million MEPS is the target, the bigger ambition is to get as many people moving as possible.
Whether people walk, run, swim, lift weights or take part in a group exercise class, every activity counts — both inside and outside of the gym. The challenge is deliberately inclusive, with the focus on participation and collective achievement rather than individual performance.
“Ten million MEPs is a huge target but it’s one we can reach if operators everywhere get behind it,” said Jay Worthy, the CEO of Myzone. “This is a chance for the global fitness industry to come together and use ukactive’s National Fitness Day as a platform to effect positive change and get more people moving. We’re asking operators to rally their teams, activate their members and help us show what happens when a global fitness community moves together. Every MEP matters and every person involved gets us closer to the goal.”
For operators, the challenge provides a simple way to create energy and engagement around National Fitness Day while bringing members together under a shared purpose. Existing classes, activities and timetables can become part of the challenge, while clubs can set their own MEP target, create a team workout, display their progress and celebrate collective milestones throughout the day.
The challenge can also provide operators with a ready-made content opportunity, with Myzone social assets available to help clubs build awareness, encourage participation and share their progress before and during National Fitness Day.
Getting involved is straightforward. In the two weeks leading up to National Fitness Day participating Myzoners will receive a challenge invitation through the Myzone app. Operators are encouraged to promote the challenge through their social channels, email, apps, screens, noticeboards, staff communications and classes, and to encourage members to accept the invitation.
On September 16, every MEP earned by participating Myzoners will contribute to the global 10 million target. Operators can follow Myzone’s social channels throughout the day to track global progress, while sharing their own club’s MEP total, member activity, class highlights, staff participation and milestones.
The challenge is designed to make National Fitness Day a collective celebration of movement, from the individual member taking their first steps towards greater activity to individuals and clubs coming together to contribute to a global goal.
“National Fitness Day is about inspiring people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be more active, and our sector is the engine room behind this,” said Cameron Saunders, the CEO of ukactive. “By setting a common goal, Myzone’s 10 Million MEPs Global Challenge provides a great way for operators to encourage people to get involved on the day and carry this momentum forwards into their daily lives. It’s great to see initiatives like this reaching more people through collective action.”
One day. One global community. 10 million MEPs.
