1. What’s the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome in life or business? Finding the balance between being a good father, husband, employee and boss. I’m always looking to improve in each area.
2. How did you overcome this? Taking feedback well and making necessary adjustments. Perception is reality.
3. What has been a major key to your success? Having patience and eliminating negativity. Listening to my team, superiors and arriving at the best decision. Learning from failures and making adjustments. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty. Because I started from the ground level, my experiences resonate with my teams.
4. What do you like to do in your free time? If I have any free time, you’ll find me on the golf course.
5. What was your first job in the health and fitness industry? I was a membership consultant for New York Sports Clubs in White Plains, New York, back in February 2000.
6. What was the most exciting thing you did over the past 12 months? Attending my first Gold’s Gym Convention in Dallas, Texas back in August 2015 and meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger.
7. What’s something you’d like to experience in 2016? Along with attending the Club Solutions Leadership Retreat in Austin, Texas, I’d love to attend the Filex 2016 Fitness Convention in Melbourne. Sharing best practices with industry pros never gets old.
8. What’s your favorite aspect of being a part of the Gold’s Gym family? Learning from Angel and Willy Banos every day, the co-owners of Gold’s Gym SoCal. They are true professionals and I’ve bought into their vision. We’re not just a gym. We are a place that’s committed to getting our members results. It makes me proud to wear our logo.
9. What’s your vision for your future? To continue my efforts on educating as many people on the importance of fitness. Bringing fitness programs to families and schools to help curb childhood obesity. Educating seniors on the benefits of fitness for improved quality of life. Continued wellness education for corporations and communities. Making Gold’s Gym SoCal the proudest within the industry for our members and employees.
