Adding a simple perks program to your club is a great way to increase retention and brand awareness in your market place. Most health clubs don’t know the power of their membership base. Did you know that a health club of only 1,000 members has an economy of approximately $2 million per year to its local area? This money is spent on everyday expenses, goods and services.

By reaching out to dozens of local businesses in your area you should be able to create a membership perks program that entitles your members to receive discounts at local businesses across your market. The savings alone can offset the cost of your membership by three times. Virtually any local business is a candidate for the program. You are looking for an average savings of between 5-10 percent for your members.
