Western Athletic Clubs, an 11-location health club chain on the West Coast, announced that from this point forward it will be known as The Bay Club Company.
“The Bay Club has been an iconic brand in San Francisco for decades,” said Matthew Steven, the president and CEO of The Bay Club Company, in a news release. “We are proud to extend this name to our company to pay homage to the distinctive brand The Bay Club name represents.”
Eight locations were already equipped with the “Bay Club” name. However, three all-inclusive sports resort destinations will be rebranded to reflect the name change, including Pacific Sports Resort (now Bay Club Courtside), Pacific Sports Resort (now Bay Club Redwood Shores) and Pacific Sports Resort San Diego (now Bay Club Carmel Valley).
A “country club” atmosphere characterizes The Bay Club Company’s locations, many of which boast proclaimed “staycation” resort offerings, such as expansive gym and aquatics facilities, dining, child care and spas.
Founded in 1977, The Bay Club Company is headquartered in San Francisco, Calif.
