The Total Gym Row Trainer produces a full-body workout, integrating a strength component into a traditional cardio machine.
Here, Justin Fouse, the owner of Thryve Fitness Solutions, explains how the Total Gym Row Trainer has been an extremely valuable piece of equipment to his facility.
CS: What made you choose the Total Gym Row Trainer over other rowing machines?
JF: I chose the Total Gym Rowers first because it was different than the Concept rowers that we had been using. Then once I experienced the resistance, workload and functionality, the choice was clear.
CS: How are you using the five Total Gym Row Trainers in your facilities?
JF: We run a proprietary program called T3 (Team, Train, Thryve) in our facilities that is an interval-based, functional workout in a team setting. We incorporate cardio and strength training while utilizing heart rate technology to drive the direction and intensity of the team. The rowers are one of two cardio components that we incorporate, as well as using them for varying strength movements throughout the program.
CS: How is the Total Gym Row Trainer benefiting your members?
JF: The row trainers give our members a new and unique experience that they haven’t had before, while generating more effort than the rowers we were traditionally using.
CS: What programming are you using with the Total Gym Row Trainers?
JF: Our team training is where we primarily use them for the cardio component of the T3 workout, but they are also used in one-on-one training, individual workouts by our members while they train on their own, and we have also have created some upper-body and core movements that we incorporate into the T3 programming.
CS: Being a health club owner, would you recommend the Total Gym Row Trainer to other gym operators?
JF: Most definitely. I also own a fitness company that provides a consulting and outsourcing solution to other owners and operators around the nation. When I go into other clubs, part of the programming that I install is our T3 component. When we incorporate the T3 program we will naturally be needing to order more rowers to build out the program equipment requirements, so more than recommending the Total Gym Row Trainers, they are now a standard piece of equipment that I’ve deemed necessary to maximize our T3 experience.
