As a new Anytime Fitness club owner, Renee Covell was looking for a piece of equipment that could provide her gyms with a differentiating factor. Jacobs Ladder turned out to be the solution. Here, she shares what she loves about the piece of equipment from a business and user perspective.
CS: From an ownership perspective, why did you want to offer Jacobs Ladder within your facility?
RC: As a new owner of three Anytime Fitness locations in Lebanon County, I wanted to add a piece of cardio to introduce our new ownership and our commitment to helping our members get healthier and to have a motivating, new training device to do so. For me, it was a no-brainer. Before I became an owner of Anytime Fitness, I was a member of it, and I started using Jacob’s Ladder at another Anytime Fitness club several years ago. I fell in love with the body shaping, cardio blasting, awesome pump I got from it, and new before the sale went through that I’d be buying at least one for my clubs. From a logistical standpoint, it takes up little space and comes completely assembled.
CS: What are the benefits of offering Jacobs Ladder to your business?
RC: Jacobs Ladder provides a new cardio option for our members. It’s fun, but it’s also tough. It provides a challenging workout for our long-term members and is a cause for pause (and memberships) when giving prospective members tours. It makes the club enhancement fees valuable, as we point out that Jacobs Ladder is one of the things we have purchased with them. As a multi-club owner, it also gives our members of our other clubs a reason to visit the one with Jacobs Ladder.
CS: What do your members love about Jacobs Ladder?
RC: Right now, our members are all pumped up about the Mt. Everest Challenge. It’s an intra-club competition to see who can climb a certain amount of steps first, and it gives bragging rights to those that do make it. It’s something different, and an added bonus is that it burns calories like no other piece of cardio equipment can. I am known for climbing on Jacobs Ladder for two to three days a week for 45 minutes to an hour. In that time, I’ve burned over 800 calories.
CS: Is Jacobs Ladder easy to work with from a customer service perspective?
RC: Our representative, Jeff Wopperer, is awesome. He’s quick to respond and made the ordering process easy. As a new owner, I did not want to take on any new debt, and Jeff was able to break my payments up into two so I could accomplish my goal of acquiring a Jacobs Ladder without having to use credit to purchase it.
CS: Is there anything else you can share with other club owners about the benefits of working with Jacobs Ladder?
RC: It’s an attention-grabbing, motivating and inspiring cost-effective piece of equipment that has low maintenance costs and needs minimal space requirements.
