Studio Uses MYZONE to Gamify Fitness

It’s a known fact that customers who are engaged with your fitness business get better results and stay longer. With this in mind, Tanya Miszko Kefer, the owner and functional strength coach at 30 Minutes of Everything, began searching for a heart rate tracking technology she could use at her studio to engage and onboard members successfully. Here, she shares the great results she’s had with MYZONE.   

CS: How were you introduced to MYZONE, and why did you decide to partner with them? 

TK: I was introduced to MYZONE at the Perform Better Functional Training Summit in Providence, Rhode Island, this past summer. I had thought about adding heart rate training to my fitness studio, but wasn’t totally sold on the investment of it — until I saw the MYZONE system in action at the conference. Being able to see your intensity in real time while you were working out and being able to adjust your intensity on the spot was incredible. I knew this would be a great combination for my studio! I chose MYZONE because they offered more than just heart rate information. The visual display is incredible, but they also offer so much more in their software package.

CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership? 

TK: I get real feedback about my programming. The heart rate information is verifying that the program is doing what I created it to do. That is invaluable to my business because it validates the “method to my madness.” It also keeps my clients more accountable to their workouts because they want to earn more MEPs so they’re working harder, too.

CS: What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership? 

TK: My clients are excited to earn MEPS. It’s definitely raised the level of competition in my studio, but in a good, supportive way. People want to get more MEPS than their friend they’re working out with so they push a little harder than they typically do. Clients are loving the real-time feedback and ability to adjust their workouts immediately.

CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with MYZONE in any way? 

TK: They have an amazingly detailed “on-boarding” process that they walk you through with your own account manager. I can email or call my account manager any time if I have an issue or question.
