Equipment quality and responsiveness in customer service are important for equipment manufacturers. Matrix Fitness specializes in delivering both.

Ralph Rajs, the senior vice president of Leisure Sports, Inc., values the excellent quality and dependability of Matrix products and services. Here, he shares why he trusts their equipment and partnership:

How were you introduced to Matrix and why did you decide to partner with them?

RR: I was introduced to Matrix by Pat Jamison, who has been a friend in the industry for years. He convinced me to take a look and make the trip to Wisconsin to get to know them. I took a small team to their headquarters, and we got a good feel for who they were and what they were about.

What do you like about Matrix as an equipment manufacturer?

RR: I really like their commitment to a long-term relationship, not just the pending prospective sale that’s up at the moment. Also, after visiting them, I could see they were highly committed to product quality and development.

What are some of your favorite products they offer?

RR: The Sprint 8 program on their ellipticals has been very popular with members. It’s the best fitness floor program we have had. Members understand the easy-to-follow Sprint 8 protocol that’s programmed into the consoles. It’s utilized in a coached class format and members will do it on their own.

We are also big fans of their Climbmills. Stair climbers have been around a long time, but the Matrix climber is the most durable and user-friendly in our experience, and the members really like them.

How would you describe Matrix’s customer service?

RR: Matrix customer service has been great. There are always going to be issues with equipment — the question for me is how urgently the company addresses any issues. Matrix has been great about minimizing any down time and taking care of the few issues there have been.

I want to commend our sales rep, Pat Jamison, who has done a great job of taking care of our account, helping when we need him and staying in touch when we don’t. I appreciate there has been no turnover in our rep since we started working with Matrix. The continuity is important to me.

Why should other club operators consider working with Matrix?

RR: Other operators should take a look at Matrix because their product line is reliable, has some unique features and the members enjoy using it. Also you will be working with a company that cares about the success of your business after the sale.
