Jason Reinhardt announced in a Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, August 12, that he is resigning as the Chair of the IHRSA Board after serving in the role for 14 months.
When Reinhardt began serving on the IHRSA Board, he distinguished himself as the chair of the Nominations Committee. “I joined this board to make a difference like I do everything else in my life,” he said, in a statement.
Reinhardt, who had spent the past five years as an IHRSA board member, will now concentrate his time on his family and his business.
According to the IHRSA press release, in his parting words, Reinhardt told the incoming board nominees that he was excited for them to make positive changes for the future success of IHRSA. “To the industry, the world is so divided right now in everything and it’s a shame,” he stated. “I hope you all come together and rally behind IHRSA, the IHRSA staff and our amazing industry.”
The Nominations Committee of the Board is discussing options to fill the officer position of the chair and will make a thoughtful, informed recommendation to the full board in the near future. Until a decision is made, Carrie Kepple, the vice chair and owner of Styles Studio Fitness, will assume the duties of the chair.
“Over the past five years, Jason Reinhardt has served the industry and IHRSA with honor and distinction,” said Joe Moore, the president and CEO of IHRSA, in a statement. “It has been a pleasure to work alongside a leader who has always acted with integrity, putting the interests of the IHRSA membership and the association first and foremost. We thank him for his valuable service and wish him nothing but the best.”
