Beth Saroka, the CEO and owner of Onslow Fitness, a premier 24/7 club in Jacksonville, North Carolina, has been managing and owning her business for over 40 years. She has unique experience with different club management solutions including a homegrown custom system. So, when she was approached by ABC Fitness Solutions to be an early adopter for their IGNITE suite, she knew she would be a great fit given she has first-hand knowledge how important technology is to a club and the club owner.
“I also asked my daughter, Georgia Harris, who ran our business office back in the day and was raised in the business, to help with this program because of her previous job experience as a quality assurance analyst,” explained Saroka. “We know how beneficial it is for developers to get feedback on how a product is performing and locating any defects or issues so they could be fix before it’s released. We were excited to be able to provide feedback on what would be most beneficial and user friendly.”
Here, Saroka discusses more on what benefit IGNITE provides to health clubs and her experience working with ABC.
Can you briefly describe IGNITE and its benefit to your facility?
IGNITE displays up-to-date information at-a-glance and is very user friendly. By having immediate access to this information, it enables the club owner, managers and all staff to have the information needed to quickly make decisions.
Additionally, it saves time and resources — instead of spending extra time running and formatting individual reports — we can track progress and review meaningful metrics. The new design will also be easier to onboard and train new staff to the system and it allows all staff to complete frequently used tasks faster and easier.
What do your staff and you love most about IGNITE?
One thing our team loves is the new interactive dashboards in IGNITE. The dashboards give more information without having to run different reports in the DataTrak Club Reporting System. A great example is the Daily Snapshot, the Joins and Revenue Trend reports, which combine information from three different old reports that I would’ve had to run then combine in an Excel spreadsheet. It’s very easy to drill down and get more details.
This feature will be a tremendous asset giving us the most up-to-date, real-time information without having to wait until the next business processing day — helping managers to monitor performance and state of the business.
Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with ABC in any way?
It has been a pleasure working with ABC throughout this whole process. I feel like they have really listened to our feedback to work towards making IGNITE the best solution. ABC has been very thorough with their details and what they wanted tested. They provided us the scenarios needed to make it easier for us to do that testing.
