REGYMEN Fitness announced the majority sale of the business to David “Patch” Patchell-Evans.
Patchell-Evans is a Canadian fitness entrepreneur with nearly 50 years of experience building and growing top fitness brands. Over the past five years he and his flagship company GoodLife Fitness have partnered with REGYMEN to integrate the boutique studio within 12 of his clubs in Canada with plans to continue to grow in this market. After seeing success in this partnership, Patchell-Evans has expanded his role in REGYMEN to become majority owner.
“Patch’s involvement in REGYMEN is a game changer,” said Leah Seacrest, the vice president of franchising of REGYMEN, in a statement. “He’s one of the top leaders in the fitness industry and brings an entirely new set of skills and resources to help us to continue to grow the brand.”
Patchell-Evans is very familiar with the fitness franchise segment, supporting the accelerated growth of Oxygen Yoga & Fitness, which has now exceeded 130 locations across North America. He expects to see similar growth of the REGYMEN Fitness brand.
“The franchising model is turn-key and is supported by a strong team of industry professionals that are focused on helping franchisees grow their business both here in the U.S. and internationally,” said Patchell-Evans in a statement. “A REGYMEN franchise costs less to build than comparable models and it’s a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs looking for a solid investment. I’m very happy to share that REGYMEN is open for business.”
REGYMEN Fitness is a high-intensity group fitness studio franchise that delivers results for both members and owners. The multi-platform fitness programs feature high energy offerings backed by exercise science and takes the form of two signature workouts — BURN and BUILD.
REGYMEN currently has 23 studios — six franchises, one corporate store, four licensed stores and 12 integrated within GoodLife Fitness clubs. This new ownership is expected to help grow the franchise base and introduce REGYMEN into more communities across the U.S. and the world. Each unity is roughly 2,500 square feet as a standalone location or can be successfully integrated inside existing clubs using a square footage of 1,500 to 2,000.
