VASA Fitness has opened its newest location in Colorado Springs, and with it, introduced a first for the brand: a cold plunge tub.
The new 48,000-square-foot facility is VASA’s 15th in Colorado and its fourth in Colorado Springs. Beyond the standard strength, cardio and group fitness offerings, the club places a strong emphasis on recovery amenities, a trend increasingly shaping the fitness industry.
Along with the cold plunge, members have access to a full recovery suite that includes a sauna, steam room, hot tub, massage chairs and red light therapy. For operators, VASA’s investment signals how recovery has moved from a “nice-to-have” to a core feature of modern gyms.
“Today’s fitness consumer—especially Gen Z—is looking for a space that’s immersive, social, and results-driven while still being affordable,” said Rich Nelsen, the CEO of VASA Fitness. “This new club delivers all of that and more: boutique-style classes, on-trend recovery amenities, an energetic community, and accessible pricing. It’s the ideal space for anyone seeking a well-rounded approach to fitness, recovery, and total-body wellness.”
The club also features VASA’s three proprietary STUDIO classes: STUDIO RED (HIIT), STUDIO LFT (strength training), and STUDIO FLOW (infrared yoga), creating a holistic offering that blends exercise and recovery under one roof.
For gym operators, the Colorado Springs opening underscores several key trends in gym recovery amenities:
- Recovery tools like cold plunges are moving mainstream.
- Full recovery suites are a powerful differentiator in competitive markets.
- Affordable pricing models can coexist with premium recovery and boutique-style programming.
With this opening, VASA continues to expand its footprint while also shaping expectations around what a full-service gym experience should include.
