24 Hour Fitness announced the appointment of Derek Gallup as its VP of fitness. A 32-year veteran of the fitness industry, Gallup brings an extensive track record of driving revenue growth, developing talent and elevating the member experience across some of the world’s most recognized fitness brands.
Throughout his career, Gallup has generated more than $3 billion in revenue across personal training, nutrition, recovery and retail divisions. He began his career with Gold’s Gym before serving in senior leadership roles at 24 Hour Fitness, where he supported more than 11,000 team members nationwide and helped shape the brand’s personal and group training programs. His executive portfolio also includes leadership positions at UFC GYM and other global fitness organizations.
Outside of these experiences, Gallup is also the founder of SPARKLE — The Carla Gallup Foundation, which he established in 2023 in memory of his late wife, Carla Gallup. The foundation carries her spirit forward, working to restore hope and light to those facing similar struggles — a mission Gallup views as inseparable from his lifelong commitment to improving lives through fitness.
“Derek returns energized to elevate our fitness experience and help change more lives than ever before,” said 24 Hour Fitness in a LinkedIn post.
Gallup steps into the role focused on expanding 24 Hour Fitness’ impact on member health and wellness. His appointment underscores the company’s continued commitment to investing in world-class fitness leadership as it works to serve more members across its nationwide club network.
