STRONG Pilates, the global fitness franchise known for its unique blend of Pilates with cardio and strength training, has unveiled its latest expansion plans with debut locations confirmed across Maryland and Virginia.
Each state will welcome four STRONG Pilates studios bringing the brand’s signature low-impact, high-intensity workout to fitness communities using the proprietary Rowformer and Bikeformer equipment. The first studio is set to open in Maryland.
The openings build on STRONG’s existing U.S. presence with eight operating locations across New York, New Jersey, Texas and California, and a further 155 locations confirmed to open nationwide over the next four years.
Confirmed Maryland locations:
- Gaithersburg
- Silver Spring
- Rockville
- Bethesda
Confirmed Virginia locations:
- Tysons Corner
- Rosslyn
- Reston
- Old Town
Michael Ramsey, a co-founder of STRONG Pilates, said the move into both states reflects the brand’s accelerating U.S. growth trajectory.
“As we prepare for significant expansion across the country, establishing a strong footprint in key East Coast markets is essential,” said Ramsey. “Maryland and Virginia are both high‑potential markets, with engaged fitness communities and franchise partners who truly understand our brand vision. Building momentum here will position us for continued growth across the East Coast and beyond.”
The expansion comes as Pilates continues to dominate the boutique fitness category globally, with the 2025 ClassPass Annual Report showing a 66% year-over-year surge in Pilates reservations — clear evidence of sustained consumer demand for low-impact, results-driven training formats.
Beyond the U.S., STRONG Pilates currently has studios in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Ireland, Singapore, Canada, the Philippines, Japan, Dubai, Indonesia, Bahrain, South Korea and Malaysia.
