CR Fitness Holdings — one of the largest Crunch Fitness franchise groups in the country — has announced a significant organizational restructuring, forming three regional subsidiaries to better manage its expanding portfolio of clubs and set the stage for continued growth.
The Tampa-based group currently operates 95 Crunch Fitness locations across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, serving more than one million members and employing approximately 6,000 team members. Each subsidiary will be led by a veteran operator drawn from within the organization or the broader fitness industry.
The subsidiaries will be split up as follows:
- Florida: Pete Cosentino, who joined CR Fitness in 2016 and most recently served as COO, will lead CR Fitness Holdings LLC, overseeing 62 locations.
- Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee: Chris Adams, a 25-year fitness industry veteran who previously held roles spanning personal training, operations, sales management and ownership, will serve as President of Blue Ridge Fitness Holdings LLC, covering 21 clubs.
- Texas and Arizona: Josh Rider, the former president and CEO of YouFit Gyms, will lead Southwest Fitness Holdings LLC, which currently operates 12 Texas locations with Arizona expansion on the horizon.
Tony Scrimale, the CEO of CR Fitness Holdings, pointed to the company’s growth trajectory as the driving force behind the restructuring. “We’ve come a long way since opening our first Crunch club back in 2012, and I couldn’t be any more confident in Pete, Josh and Chris to lead these divisions into 2026-2027 and beyond,” he said in a statement.
Backed by investment firms North Castle Partners and Sixth Street, CR Fitness is targeting 110 open locations by year’s end.
