Retro Fitness will begin offering live P90X classes in a number of its clubs this November. The live classes were made possible by a licensing agreement with Beachbody, the at-home fitness company that created the popular 90-day P90X program.
Retro Fitness will introduce the P90X classes to its 81 plus clubs in phases. The classes will be taught by Retro Fitness instructors, who were trained by Beachbody’s P90X Master Trainers in the specifics of the program.
“I always look to align myself with the best in breed,” said Eric Casaburi, the founder and CEO of Retro Fitness. “When we were setting out to offer more group exercise and functional training classes, I really felt P90X was the best in breed in terms of cardio, strength and functional training.”
In fact, Casaburi had gone through the P90X program himself before the partnership, and was impressed with his results. “It really is a dynamic fitness program,” he said. “The results I got personally were amazing.”
Casaburi expects the class to be well received by members, particularly due to P90X’s brand familiarity. “I’m expecting an overwhelming response from members,” he said. “A lot of folks have tried at-home programs and it has given them the confidence to come to a fitness center. Because of that, I think a lot of members will be familiar with P90X. Familiarity breeds comfort, and [P90X] has great penetration into so many demographics.”
The live classes will be available to members as fee-based fitness packages, and according to Casaburi, the goal is to offer P90X in all Retro Fitness clubs in three to six months. “We’re really excited about the partnership,” said Casaburi. “I can’t wait to get into one of my gyms and do the program alongside my members and trainers.”

I live in NJ and I am looking for a location that has the live p90x classes…I’ve called all the ones in my area and no one seems to even know about these classes! I’m so disappointed. I would love to go to this!
