Zumbatomic® is the Next Class to Sweep Group X

Zumbatomic® is an original workout program for boys and girls ages 4-12 that combines international and contemporary rhythms with hip dance steps to get children enjoying exercise. Each Zumbatomic® workout incorporates games and activities to teach children coordination, discipline, confidence and teamwork.

“The philosophy behind the Zumba Fitness program is the key combination of fitness and fun, and we applied that same principle when developing Zumbatomic®,” said Alberto Perlman, the co-founder and CEO of Zumba Fitness.  “Studies show that children can benefit greatly from an active lifestyle as it contributes to a child’s self-esteem and overall positive development, and that was our ultimate goal when creating this fun and hip kid’s fitness program.”

There are more than 1,000 Zumbatomic® classes across the country in gyms, schools and community centers — all taught by certified Zumba instructors.

Zumbatomic® has been named a Top 10 Kid Trend for 2010 by Parents magazine. According to the publication, this year family time will be “packed with sweaty, good fun” and since Zumba’s Latin-infused workout program is already sweeping the adult fitness world, workouts like Zumbatomic® are a hot trend to watch in 2010.

“Zumbatomic® is a natural progression for us following the popularity of our adult Zumba program,” Perlman added. “The U.S. is currently facing an obesity epidemic, and families are seeking activities they can participate in together. Zumba and Zumbatomic® offer the perfect workout party for the whole family, and we’re thrilled to develop programs that may help fight this growing disease.”
