Orangetheory Fitness announced its 200th studio opening in Gainesville, Florida. The opening represents the latest milestone for the fitness company, which has been experiencing explosive growth since opening its first studio in 2010.
Orangetheory Fitness has nearly doubled its footprint in the past 16 months, with a total of 525 more franchises licenses awarded.
“Our 200th open studio is certainly a landmark opening for the brand, and Gainesville holds a special place in my heart because it’s home to my alma mater, the University of Florida,” said Dave Long, the CEO of Orangetheory Fitness, in a press release. “That being said, we are nowhere near reaching our goals and will continue to strive to hit the next benchmark. Our goal is to make the world a healthier, fitter place by turning it orange. Our continued growth is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated professionals, our franchisees and the results that our members achieve from our workouts.”
Orangetheory Fitness is on track to open an additional 100 locations by the end of 2015. The successful fitness franchise has plans to break into new markets including Hawaii, Oregon, Iowa, Arkansas and Nebraska. Its international presence will also expand with studios in Bogota, Colombia and Winchester, UK.
Orangetheory’s heart-rate-monitored training is designed to maintain a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy. Led by skilled personal trainers, participants use a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, TRX suspension training and free weights, burning an average of 900 calories including after-burn.
