Keeping members accountable can be a challenge, especially if they don’t participate in personal training or nutrition consulting. To solve this issue, DAC Fitness in Collierville, Tennessee, partnered with MYZONE. By embedding MYZONE into their clubs’ culture, they were are able to provide members with a great tool for accountability.
Here, Robert Creech, the owner of DAC Fitness, explains further benefits of the partnership.
CS: How were you introduced to MYZONE, and why did you decide to partner with them?
RC: I was introduced to MYZONE while attending a National Fitness Business Alliance seminar in Chicago, Illinois. Emmett Williams, the president of MYZONE, was speaking at the event. This was several years before wearables or wearable technology had become the household buzzword that it is today within the fitness industry. I knew very little about the wearable technology space at the time, but I understood and bought into Emmett’s message that afternoon. But more importantly, when you are an early adopter of a new product — or in the case of MYZONE, a whole new industry category — you have to believe in the leadership of the company. That is the main reason I partnered with MYZONE. Emmett and his team are passionate, progressive — they fully understand the space in which they operate in and they are constantly looking for ways to better their product for club owners and its members.
CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?
RC: By embedding MYZONE into the culture of our clubs, our sales and new member onboarding processes, we are able to provide our members with a great tool for accountability. Likewise, for our fitness coaches, MYZONE is a great coaching tool when they are working through a particular session with a client. It allows them to know exactly where the client is, in terms of his or her output or workout intensity, during the session and conversely, the coach can modify the intensity levels of the session up or down as needed for the individual client in order to help them reach their desired result safely. Lastly, the social engagement component of MYZONE is very important to me. It allows members to interact with each other which, for me personally, is really fun to see when we have challenges going on at the club.
CS: What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?
RC: Simply put: results. Many of our members have made drastic changes in their bodies while using MYZONE. Last year, I asked several of our members what was the secret to their noticeable weight loss. They pointed to their MYZONE belt. At that point, I wanted to see what our members were raving about and I bought a belt and started using it while exercising just to get a feel of what my members were experiencing with the product. It didn’t take me long to become hooked on the product and approximately one year later, I have lost 56 pounds and will not think about exercising without my belt on.
CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with MYZONE in any way?
RC: I wouldn’t say surprised, as much as impressed by the MYZONE team’s willingness to continually improve their product and processes. Furthermore, they are very accessible and listen to any feedback that they might receive regarding possible improvements to in club functionality.
CS: What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with MYZONE?
RC: I would say not to overthink it. We all know wearable technology is here to stay. MYZONE provides an all-encompassing, robust solution that will provide club owners the ability to build an amazing community within the club, help improve retention and most importantly, it provides an opportunity for its members to get results.
