When dealing with a employee sometimes the small, almost insignificant things, can be the biggest things. For an example, remembering their anniversary date of hire or their wedding anniversary with a hand-written note can make them feel great. A simple birthday card or birthday cupcake can sometimes be more of a motivational tool than a monetary bonus. Just remember that — what motivates one person may not motivate another.
