When members enter your facility, they’re looking for a great workout. However, many are also looking to be entertained during their exercises. Steve Cook, the marketing and events director for Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center, explained how MYE Entertainment has helped his club entertain members on a daily basis.
CS: How were you introduced to MYE Entertainment, and why did you decide to partner with them?
SC: We have been using our fitness cinema systems for over 15 years and over time, dealing with new equipment receivers was becoming labor intensive and troublesome. So, having already used some of the products from MYE I noticed their newest offering of AppAudio. Instantly I knew this would be a perfect solution to having receivers on every piece of equipment, while at the same time bringing our system up to the times, where just about everyone is using their smartphones in the fitness area for one purpose or another. As a marketing director it also gave me one more opportunity to educate and share information with our patrons. A total win for me!
CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?
SC: The benefits are many. 1) A simply easily available free download to our patrons so they can listen to the TV and music channels, regardless of where they are while in the fitness facility. 2) An opportunity to share program information and updates, such as fitness class schedules with our patrons, without having additional costs to print any updated materials. (Actually patrons can now just save schedules to their phones so they have them at their fingertips anytime). 3) I can even sell or make part of sponsor packages advertising space for messages to patrons using the systems, all without being too intrusive. 4) I don’t need to purchase additional receivers for new equipment.
CS: What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?
SC: Benefits to members are: 1) They can roam freely within the fitness facility without being tethered to machines in order to listen to the audio on the TVs or music stations being broadcast. 2) They can easily receive/view new or updated program information, even downloading coupons and schedules right to their phones.
CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with MYE Entertainment in any way?
SC: Other tech companies I have worked with for various needs in the past seem to operate more like, once you buy, you’re on your own. MYE Entertainment and more specifically, Laura Garcia, has been by our side throughout the whole process. Amazingly she always seems to be there to take my calls, which is a rare thing, and she even takes the initiative to check in to see how things are going. Whenever there is an improvement or update, she has been right on it to convey that information. It has really been a very refreshing experience.
CS: What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with MYE Entertainment?
SC: MYE Entertainment will listen to what your needs are, make suggestions and walk you through the process from the start of set-up to testing and beyond. The system itself is fairly simple to install and maintain. It’s definitely a benefit that club owners and marketing departments will reap business rewards from.
