This week, UFC GYM announced three new locations to its already 135-location-wide international franchise.
On Tuesday, March 22 the gym announced a partnership with UFC Bantamweight contender Urijah Faber. Faber plans to open a new location in Rocklin, California, partnering with fitness veteran Mark Polli and Mark Mastrov, the co-founder of New Evolution Ventures.
Faber is a former WEC featherweight champion and was not the only featherweight contender to announce a partnership this week. On Thursday, UFC GYM also announced a partnership with former UFC lightweight champion and current featherweight contended Frankie Edgar, who is also one of the most decorated UFC athletes. Edgar plans to open a signature UFC GYM locations in North Brunswick, New Jersey.
Both WEC featherweight champions are opening in their hometowns. “I’m excited to be able to bring UFC-style training to my home state in the form of our UFC GYM,” said Edgar, in a statement. “UFC has been a big part of my life for more than a decade and having the opportunity to share my dedication to fitness and training with my community has been a lifelong dream.”
The location in New Jersey is replacing an existing 25,000 square foot Workout World gym. It will offer strength training and cardio machines, battle ropes, agility ladders, bag room, Brazilian jiu-jitsu studio and other functional training equipment for dynamic workouts.
Finally, the third location UFC GYM announced this week is its first signature gym in Kendall, Florida.
“We’re thrilled to open our first signature gym in the state of Florida,” said UFC GYM president Adam Sedlack, in a statement. “This location will raise the bar and become a premiere fitness destination for South Floridians. UFC GYM’s brand represents traditional fitness with the innovation of training regimens from the best athletes in the world.”
The location will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But prior to the launch date, local residents have the opportunity to preview the facility Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
These three locations will put UFC GYM now over 135 locations in the U.S., Australia and Canada. They expect to open 30 additional gyms to open in the next year.
