Nutrition is the other half of the wellness equation. Balanced Habits provides the right nutrition solution for clubs to prevent members from becoming frustrated at a lack of workout results.
Mid American Fitness has already seen great results from partnering with Balanced Habits, despite only being in business since September. Here, Karen Blazaitis, the studio’s owner, shares her experience working with Balanced Habits:
CS: How were you introduced to Balanced Habits and why did you decide to partner with them?
KB: I was introduced to Balanced Habits through an advertisement. I had never heard of Balanced Habits, and I had been looking for a solid nutrition program to offer at my studio for at least four years. I just couldn’t find anything that was practical and scalable, and not just based on a diet. When I started reading about Balanced Habits, I was drawn to learn more about it.
CS: How has this partnership benefitted your club and your members?
KB: I’ve seen people who have been frustrated in trying to lose weight and in the past, I didn’t have a solution for them. I would refer them to other resources outside our club for the actual nutrition and weight loss, and then help them achieve their goals through our fitness programs. However, many of them found out you can’t out-exercise a bad diet. Now that I have this solution, it’s been wonderful to have something solid and proven to offer to the clients.
Having just personally just completed the 28-Day Balanced Habits KICK START, I feel very confident recommending the program to the customers of my club. The basis of the program is solid and something you can do for the rest of your life — it’s not just a short-term diet. It’s a lifestyle change, and it’s been very rewarding for our members.
We had one member with an eating disorder in the past who didn’t really understand what nutrition meant for her, and suffered from migraines. Balanced Habits has almost completely alleviated her headaches, and it’s all because of eating a balanced diet. In addition to slow and steady weight loss, just having the knowledge that’s customized to each individual about what they should eat for their body, lifestyle and activity level is great. It’s a comprehensive program they are all succeeding with.
CS: Why is it so important to offer a great nutrition solution like Balanced Habits?
KB: It’s very important because of the number of people who come to our studios to lose weight. I’ve always known you have to combine a healthy diet with plenty of exercise, but in the past, I’d always referred them to an app or another program. Having this in place sets our studio apart from competitors by having that comprehensive program for weight loss, with exercise and nutrition components. With more and more gyms popping up on every corner, it really is a nice differentiator that gives us a leg up on our competition.
CS: Why should other clubs consider working with Balanced Habits?
KB: It’s a solid program based on nutrition facts and macros, and Balanced Habits has found a way to package it so any fitness studio can pick it up and get started with it. As with anything new, it takes a while to learn the whole program but thankfully there’s robust training involved for your staff. Once you get it up and running, and the word starts getting out among members and the instructors start talking about it, people will come and ask about the program. Of course, it’s a great opportunity to generate additional revenue. In the short time we’ve had it — since September — we’ve seen several financial gains from offering it.
