VASA Fitness grows to 50 locations and announces plans for more to come.
VASA Fitness has opened its 50th location nationwide in Joliet, Illinois, since being founded in 2014. The high-value, low-price (HVLP) concept can be found in Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Illinois and Indiana, and will be opening its first location in Wisconsin soon.
According to Rich Nelsen, the CEO of VASA Fitness, the brand plans to continue its aggressive growth trajectory this year and beyond.
“With the grand opening of our milestone 50th club in Joliet, it’s a good time to reflect on what we’ve achieved and where we’re heading in 2022 and beyond,” said Nelsen, in a statement. “I’m so proud of the way we’ve grown the VASA brand, now boasting 2,600 team members, as well as nearly 200% growth in membership since being acquired by Silver Oak Services Partners in late 2014.”
VASA Fitness originated under the Gold’s Gym name before receiving investment from Silver Oak Services Partners, allowing it to rebrand and transition to the HVLP business model.
According to Nelsen, VASA Fitness will continue its strategic expansion into both new and existing high-growth markets. In addition, it will invest in new and existing clubs. New locations are coming to Wisconsin, Indiana, Colorado and Utah; and the brand is expanding its facility in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
In a previous interview with Club Solutions Magazine, Nelsen credited keys to growth to always being true to brand values and guiding principles, doing right by teams and members, and being consistently transparent.
“Our people have really shown up in a big way over the past year – they have listened to each other, collaborated and remained very nimble through a lot of change and uncertainty,” said Nelsen. “The leadership team is so grateful for each and every one of them. We also believe prioritizing the most important work and ensuring our teams are aligned behind one common goal has helped us continue to grow despite the challenges.”
VASA Fitness’ headquarters are in Denver, Colorado and Orem, Utah.
