Genesis Health Clubs has acquired the RDV Sportsplex. The 365,000-square-foot facility joins Genesis’ portfolio of 61 clubs across seven states.
Genesis Health Clubs has acquired MVP Sports Clubs’ RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, Florida.
Since 1998, the 365,000-square-foot facility has served as a unique and comprehensive multi-purpose health and athletic facility for the Orlando area. The acquisition includes RDV Athletic Club, RDV Ice Den and onsite office spaces.

We know Genesis Health Clubs will be a great partner with the community and provide growth and services for years to come.”
Based in Wichita, Kansas, Genesis Health Clubs entered the Central Florida market in May 2022 with the purchase of MVP Athletic Club-Brownwood and MVP Athletic Club-Spanish Springs in The Villages. With over 35 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, the purchase of RDV Sportsplex increases its portfolio to three Florida locations and 61 locations across the U.S.
Rodney Steven II, the owner and president of Genesis Health Clubs, expressed the company’s commitment to fitness in Florida. “When we enter a new market, we like to go big, and the Sportsplex is definitely big,” he said. “There’s so much under one roof, from fitness to tennis to ice skating; it has something for everyone. Effective December 13, 2022, RDV Sportsplex will be known as Genesis Health Clubs – Orlando Sportsplex, and the ice center will be known as the Genesis Ice Den. The transition to Genesis allows all RDV Athletic Club members to continue membership seamlessly with no interruptions and no price increase. Members will immediately gain access to 61 clubs in seven states, including the new locations located nearby in The Villages.
