Courtney McNamee, the director of marketing at Stronger U Nutrition, shares the importance of outsourcing nutrition support.

Does your member retention strategy include nutrition support? Here’s why it should.

The success of any health and fitness club lies in the ability to maintain members long-term. Which is why environment, community, and synergistic services play an integral part in the overall experience that keeps members coming back. However, the key to member longevity is heavily dictated by members perception of the results they achieve while using your facility or programming. While exercise is vital to the wellness puzzle, lifestyle components outside the gym enormously impact adherence, motivation, and member outcomes. One way to tackle this is by providing additional solutions for the challenges members are up against in the other 23 hours of their day.

While some trainers may have the knowledge and qualifications to offer nutrition advice in-house, this isn’t always the case. Which can lead to a generic, one-size-fits-all approach that lacks the integrative and personalized approach needed to achieve meaningful changes in body composition through consistent adherence.

Additionally, many in-house nutrition providers lack the credentials and professional experience to legally work with a broader range of health indications that require the oversight of a registered dietitian.

Outsourcing nutrition support for members can be a great option that frees trainers and instructors to focus on what they do best while allowing a credentialed subject matter expert to step in and fill the gap while still driving revenue.

Here are four reasons why partnering with a network of registered dietitians and certified nutrition experts can benefit members and your bottom line.

Improves Member Results for Retention

Fitness and nutrition are more effective together. By offering both, members can achieve and maintain their desired results much more efficiently, while attributing the success to your club. Which will keep them returning and bringing their friends.

Gives Members a Holistic Experience for a Competitive Advantage

Consumers prioritize spending with brands who offer multiple wellness services under one roof. Having solutions for multiple wellness dimensions in your club can help you win in a noisy, competitive market.

Generates Revenue, Reduces Overhead

Linking members with outsourced nutrition experts can still drive meaningful revenue and increase customer lifetime value while eliminating the need for traditional in-house nutrition model overhead.

Leverages Expertise for Specific Health Conditions

When serving individuals with chronic diseases, leveraging the knowledge of a qualified nutrition expert like a registered dietitian allows clubs to provide the highest level of support to members while staying ethical and compliant with state regulations for nutrition services.
