At the 14th Annual IHRSA Women’s Leadership Summit, Carol Nalevanko, the president of DMB Sports Clubs, was honored as the 2023 Woman Leader Award recipient.
Instituted in 2009, the Julie Main Woman Leadership Award is presented to the female who best exemplifies what Julie Main stood for before she passed away from breast cancer: courage, perseverance, excellence and professionalism.
IHRSA stated, “With more than 40 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Carol exemplifies Julie’s famous qualities of leadership and drive.”
“Receiving the 2023 Julie Main Women’s Leadership Award at this year’s IHRSA Convention in San Diego was both a nice surprise and a great honor,” said Nalevanko. “It was especially rewarding considering myself and several other female fitness industry veterans created the award and the Women’s Leadership Summit — now in its 14th year — in honor of our good friend, Julie Main. Over my long career, I have been very fortunate to have been mentored by many great people. It’s been a pleasure to return the favor and mentor many outstanding young women who have advanced in their careers and have made their own contributions to the health and fitness industry we all love.”
Colleagues took to LinkedIn to share their congratulations:
