9Round has been named one of “America’s Most Promising Companies” by Forbes Magazine. The annual list is a ranking of the Top 100 privately-held companies today, based on revenue and employment growth, operating margins, capital raised and other factors.
At number 99, 9Round is the only fitness concept listed in the 2015 ranking.
“This recognition is extremely gratifying and serves as validation of 9Round’s steadfast commitment to break the mold in the fitness industry and provide our members with a one-of-a-kind fitness option,” said 9Round co-founder Shannon Hudson, in a press release. “It also adds momentum to our plans for 2015 and beyond, as we continue to expand our global footprint and introduce millions more to our specialized boxing and kickboxing fitness training.”
9Round opened 84 new clubs in 2014, including the company’s first Canadian location. The company also signed international agreements for nearly 300 additional locations throughout Australia, Mexico and the Middle East.
According to 9Round, the company is already on pace to surpass last year’s success, having opened 30 new clubs in the first two months of this year, including its first locations in Australia and Mexico. Company plans call for opening as many as 150 new locations by the end of 2015.
“This is an amazing start to 2015 and with the continued support of our executive team and members, we have much more to accomplish and share,” Hudson continued.
