New York City Fitness Week is scheduled for June 5-12, 2022, with the goal of revitalizing and celebrating the city’s fitness community coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is the brainchild of Debra Strougo, the founder of Row House and owner of Fitizens Holdings, and Brian Chappon, the CEO of CENTRED. And, the New York City event is just the kick-off for the recently formed Global Fitness Week event series, with additional fitness weeks planned for cities such as Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto.
“We were motivated to give back to the New York City fitness scene after the 12 months of closures resulting from the pandemic,” said Strougo. “And I have always been motivated to figure out a way to get a program going to liven the audience development profile for the fitness scene in general. New York City is the perfect place to get it off the ground, and then we quickly realized there is no reason it shouldn’t go to LA next. LA needs it just as badly, as do other cities. In 2023 we’re going to try to do one a month where again, we’re just lifting the people on the ground up.”
During New York City Fitness Week participants will be able to purchase exclusive, buy-one-get-one-free deals to workout at a variety of studios and gyms across the city.
The event will be powered by CENTRED, a wellness-focused technology platform that will allow participants to easily book their pass, regardless of which club management software the participating studio uses.
If you are a health gym, club or studio who would like to participate in New York City’s Fitness Week, visit fitness-weeks.com. There is no cost to participate.
Strougo is also taking a list for those interested in LA Fitness Week, and sponsorships are available for those interested. Classes will go live for booking on May 25th.
