UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu, the newest franchise concept from UFC GYM, will make its New York City debut when UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu // Jiu Livre opens on Saturday, August 8. The studio will be the first UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu location to open under the brand’s new standalone model dedicated exclusively to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, marking the launch of the world’s first UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu studio.
The studio will mark a major milestone for the brand as it brings its first dedicated UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu concept to one of the most active and competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu communities. Opening the flagship studio in New York City places the concept in one of the world’s most recognizable cities and reinforces UFC GYM’s continued investment in the rapidly growing sport. The Manhattan location will combine UFC GYM’s global brand recognition and signature programming with Jiu Livre’s established coaching expertise and community-driven culture.
To celebrate the launch, founding members will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win two tickets to a future UFC event, connecting the studio experience directly to the brand’s global fight platform. UFC is one of the most recognized combat sports brands in the world, with more than 700 million fans globally, and UFC GYM operates as a proven international fitness franchise system.
One of the fastest-growing disciplines within mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu continues to attract practitioners of all ages and experience levels seeking self-defense training, competition opportunities, physical fitness and community connection. Unlike traditional UFC GYM locations, which offer a variety of fitness and mixed martial arts programming, UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu studios are designed specifically for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts instruction and development. The concept combines world-class coaching, standardized programming and belt progression systems with a welcoming environment for beginners, experienced practitioners and competitive athletes alike.
“Bringing UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu to life in New York City is an important step in how we expand the brand,” said Adam Sedlack, the CEO of UFC GYM. “We’re meeting the demand for high-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction in one of the most passionate and engaged Jiu-Jitsu communities in the world. Our partnership with Jiu Livre allows us to pair authentic and trusted local experience with the scale, structure and global resources of UFC GYM. Launching our first dedicated studio in Manhattan reflects both the significance of the market and the momentum behind Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A city of strivers meets a sport built on problem-solving.”
The collaboration will retain and respect established Jiu Livre’s identity and community while introducing UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu’s curriculum, programming and member experience. The studio will continue to serve existing Jiu Livre members while welcoming new students interested in learning and advancing within the discipline. As the first UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu studio, the Manhattan location represents an important milestone in the continued expansion of the concept and establishes New York City as the launch market for future UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu studio locations.
Programming and instruction will be led by experienced practitioners, including certified black belts and higher-level coaches. Members also will have access to UFC GYM Jiu-Jitsu’s unified training methodology and belt progression system designed to support development at every level.
