Marketing: Video, Blog, Podcast and Repeat

By now you know how essential it is to have a Facebook page for your fitness business. And hopefully you are posting on social media twice per day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. Your status updates are centered around motivating, inspiring and educating your followers. As you grow your social media followers, you should notice that the majority of them are not members. This is awesome, but how do you win them over and get them to come in for a tour and/or a trial membership?

  • Post videos weekly. A fitness tip, 90 seconds to two minutes, once per week. Ask a couple of your highest energy coaches to film 8 to 10 of these short videos, post once per week on your website and your Facebook page. Center your tips around things folks can do without being a member of your gym, like bodyweight exercises they can do at home.
  • Blog post bi-weekly. You can write 300 to 500 words every week, no problem, but at least post an article twice per month. These articles should be focused on health and fitness themes, with the goal to motivate and inspire your tribe of social media followers to make better day-to-day choices when it comes to their bodies.
  • A weekly podcast. This is very easy and inexpensive to do. Email jason@jasonlinse.com with “podcast” in the subject line and I will get you a document with information on how to get started. Your podcast should be around 30 minutes, with the goal of every weekly episode to include a member/client for a segment taking about their fitness journey. Don’t make the show about your discounted enrollment fee and no-contract specials. Call it the Main Street Gym health and fitness hour, or something similar.

These three forums cover people who like to process information by reading, people who like the visual way to learn, and folks who prefer to listen without feeling the need to also watch a screen.

All three of these mediums will be announced on Facebook with a link to the video, the article, or the podcast.

So, get going on your videos, your short and helpful blog posts, and your fun, informative, and motivational podcasts.

Keep changing lives.
